Ethan Kleinberg works on the acrobatics of modern thought and his wide-ranging scholarly work spans across the fields of history, philosophy, comparative literature and religion. His research interests include European intellectual history, critical theory, educational structures, and the theory and philosophy of history.
He is the author of the book Emmanuel Levinas’s Talmudic Turn: Philosophy and Jewish Thought (2021), Haunting History: For a Deconstructive Approach to the Past (2017), and Generation Existential: Martin Heidegger’s Philosophy in France, 1927-61 (2005); he is coeditor, with Ranjan Ghosh, of the volume Presence: Philosophy, History, and Cultural Theory for the Twenty-First Century (2013).
