History and Theory is an international journal devoted to the theory and philosophy of history.

It publishes articles and review essays principally in these areas:

• critical philosophy of history;

• speculative philosophy of history;

• historiography;

• history of historiography;

• historical methodology;

• critical theory;

• time and culture;

• history and related disciplines.

Each annual volume consists of four numbers; the fourth number is usually in the form of a Theme Issue.
